I'm Carl, and I
recently moved to New York from San Francisco Bay Area, where I
worked as a full-time piano instructor, teaching classical and blues
based piano to students of all ages. I'm originally from Albany, New
York. I have a Master Degree in International Relations from Johns
Hopkins University, and I love meeting people from all over the
world and learning more about their language and culture. I've
studied Spanish, French, and some Swedish- my cousins live in
Stockholm and Gothenburg, Sweden, and I love to visit them in
Sweden. When I'm not teaching, I'm either reading, playing the
piano, or shopping at Ikea.

I have friends from China, Indonesia, Malaysia, Pakistan, Ghana, Nigeria, Yemen, and many other countries. As a writer I feel that the power of expression is a very unique tool that is common amongst people from all cultures and all walks of life. My name is Jelena Djuric and I come
from Belgrade, Serbia. I graduated from Vienna University,
Austria, and I hold both bachelor and master degree in
English language and literature.
I’ve developed extremely strong communication, writing,
teaching and presentation skills in English. Having had a
teaching experience in Belgrade, Serbia, a number of courses
I attended at the English department at Vienna University,
which were dealing with methodological issues of teaching a
foreign language ( Teaching English for specific purpose),
only added to already developed teaching skills. At the
same time, I was also obliged to submit several small-scale
projects that were dealing with various literature and
linguistic issues ( i.e.
Controversies in Applied Linguistics,
The function of repetition in a school discourse etc.
which enabled me
to
develop the ability to deal effectively with written
language and have an excellent command of both formal and
informal writing. |

Joan Ramirez |
My name is Joan Ramirez. After obtaining Associate and
Bachelor's degrees (Bus. Admin.), I returned to the
corporate world to fill my Marketing portfolio. When the
writing bug bit, I obtained my Master of Science in
Financial, Technical, and Medical writing at Polytechnic
University and paid my journalism dues in all three before
obtaining the role that crowned my corporate career: Manager
of Communications for a multibillion dollar transportation
and global commerce conglomerate. Having served the
corporate world as a marketing and communications specialist
in addition to being a published, award-winning photographer
(photo in New York Historical Society's archival
collection), media presentation trainer, consultant to grade
schools, colleges, and corporations in the nuances of global
entrepreneurship/creative writing/photojournalism in the
States and South Africa, Argentina, Vietnam, and Eastern
Europe, I decided to return to graduate school in Columbia
University for my second Masters in ESL for Adults, which
I'll complete in early 2009. I spent the summer of 2008
teaching conversational English to high school students from
Spain, Russia, Italy, and Poland. |
